Account Manager

Job Summary:

Builds strong, lasting client/agency relationships based on achieving clients’ marketing objectives with efficiency that results in profit to the agency. Manages and coordinates client projects and takes an active role from planning to completion. Executes strategies, problem-solves, and develops solid business relationships. Manages client annual budgets, attends and leads regular client meetings, and provides monthly client updates to Senior Management. Uses sales experience to close new client accounts.

Job Description:

  • 40 hours a week, Monday – Friday (unless otherwise approved by Management)
  • Acts as the client’s main contact with the agency on a day-to-day basis and is the representative within the agency for the interests of the brand.
  • Manages the planning, execution, and implementation of client advertising activities and projects from start to finish.
  • Manages a portfolio of accounts and diligently works to achieve long-term success for each client
  • Builds and maintains strong, long-lasting client relationships
  • Generates new business using existing and potential client networks
  • Ensure timely and successful delivery of our services and solutions according to customer needs and objectives
  • Clearly communicates the progress with clients and the internal team
  • Suggests actions to improve sales performance and identifies opportunities for growth
  • Assists with challenging client requests or issue escalations, as needed
  • Prepares reports on account status
  • Attends and leads regular client meetings
  • Manages client annual marketing budget
  • Works closely with all Alison South departments to ensure the best outcome for the client
  • Continues education on current marketing trends and understanding the consumer patterns
  • Preparing organized, clear and concise reports for clients
  • Works closely with CEO to assist in the media strategy and implementation
  • Regularly attends networking functions on behalf of Alison South
  • Professionalism regarding time and deadlines on all projects and client related communication
  • Manages 1 – 2 house accounts with no commission
  • Effective utilization of companies operating systems and google calendar on a daily basis
  • Flexibility during and after work hours

Skill Set:

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Effective negotiation skills
  • Hands on experience in sales and the ability to deliver an excellent customer experience
  • 3 or more years of marketing and or agency experience as a sales account executive or account manager
  • Ability to build and sustain strong relationships with media outlets and other vendors
  • Efficient and effective strategic planning skills
  • Business acumen with a problem-solving attitude
  • Highly-organized, with a strong attention to detail and time management skills.

  • Degree in Advertising, Marketing, or a related field
  • 3 or more years of marketing or agency experience as a Sales Executive or Account Manager


  • 5 or more years of Marketing or Agency experience as a Sales Executive or Account Manager
  • Working knowledge of Augusta, GA, Aiken, SC and surrounding markets and local media
  • Comfortable proficient working in a 100% Mac environment
